2016 NADA Convention: Be There or Be Square
This is my annual suggestion that you attend the upcoming 2016 NADA Convention & Expo, which is in Las Vegas from March 31 to April 3. By the time you read this, it will probably be early March, so you will still have time to book a flight and hotel for the conference.
The reason I push dealers and dealership employees to attend is because NADA is traditionally the place you will find information and cutting-edge developments that will give your dealership an advantage over dealerships that don’t attend. The conference’s workshops and seminars are typically very useful and educational, and you will come away with an action plan.
Check out the expo floor
For me, it is the expo full of exhibitor booths that offers a wealth of new discoveries. Most of the long-term exhibitors announce their latest innovations at the show. Big mergers between companies are also announced at the convention.
Perhaps best of all, brand-new companies with amazing new products and services can be discovered on the expo floor. You might be surprised by the businesses that started with a small, 10-by-10 booth at the NADA Convention. Many are now giant companies because their innovations revolutionized the way auto dealers do business.
It is to your advantage, as a competitive auto dealer, to seek out these young, innovative companies and take a look at what they do. Some can represent new revenue streams for your dealership, others offer more cost-effective methods of creating website and store traffic, and still others will greatly improve departments you already have.
Visit us in the North Hall
This year, Dealer Marketing Magazine will have a booth—5973N—in the North Hall.
Our plan is to fill our booth with chairs where dealers with sore feet can sit down and take a rest. We aren’t really selling anything, we’re just handing out the magazine, so if you find yourself needing a break, come find us in the north end of the North Hall (see the Expo Hall maps on pages 16 and 17 of this issue for location).
