Women dealers,plan to arrive on Friday in New Orleans to take advantage of this early Saturday morning meeting for networking and discussion of your businesses. NADA will host opportunity for women dealers to network with peers and manufacturer leaders, and to discuss issues critical to the automotive business. This first-ever event will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005, from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m., at the Plimsoll Club of the New Orleans World Trade Center. Breakfast is included in the $45 ticket fee.The event's keynote speaker is Ann S. Moore, first woman CEO of Time, Inc. Ann Moore was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Time Inc. in July 2002. In this position, Ms. Moore oversees all of the businesses of Time Inc., which is the world's leading magazine company and a leading direct marketer of music and videos. Before assuming her current position, Ms. Moore has served as executive vice president of Time Inc. since June 2001, responsible for the business and development operations for several of the most popular consumer magazines in publishing today: TIME, People, In Style, Teen People, People en Españ-ol, Real Simple, and The Parenting Group. In addition, she managed the Consumer Marketing division of Time Inc.

 

Ms. Moore joined Time Inc. in 1978 as a corporate financial analyst, and went on to serve in key executive positions at Sports Illustrated, Fortune, Money and Discover magazines. She was the founding publisher of Sports Illustrated for Kids in 1989, until moving to People as its publisher in July 1991. She was named president of People in 1993. During her tenure, she took what was already the most successful weekly magazine in the U.S. to new heights of success, both domestically and internationally. Under her guidance, People grew from a single title to the centerpiece of a thriving magazine family-spinning off the Australian WHO, followed by In Style, Teen People, People en Españ-ol, and Real Simple, as well as In Style's growing international franchise. A native of McLean, Virginia, Ms. Moore graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1971 and received her MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1978.
