FCA Global Head of Design Ralph V. Gilles to Speak at July’s Women in Automotive Conference

Orlando, FLJune 6, 2017 — Women in Automotive, a collection of industry leaders focused on empowering and developing women in the automotive sector, announced today that Ralph V. Gilles, head of design, FCA Global, has been added as a keynote speaker at their upcoming Orlando conference in July.

Gilles has been part of the FCA organization since 1992, putting his extensive academic background in industrial design and business administration to use in numerous positions. He is extremely active inside and outside the company, serving as executive sponsor of the Chrysler African American Network in addition to his supporting role with The Chrysler Diversity Council.

“As members of the automotive community, it’s our responsibility to create awareness about the many opportunities there are for women in this industry,” said, Gilles. “Part of the great success of the Chrysler Pacifica minivan was due, in part, by the talented and smart women who led the design, engineering and marketing for that vehicle. Women play a great role not only in the vehicle purchase but, in the design and packaging of a vehicle.”

“We are extremely excited to add a speaker to our roster like Ralph V. Gilles,” said Women in Automotive Founder Christy Roman. “He is a leader in the automotive industry and attendees will benefit greatly as he shares his wisdom and experiences with them.”

The three-day conference, set for July 9-11, draws upon top female success stories as it assists the automotive community in recruiting, retaining and developing female employees and leaders. It includes a networking event, speakers, breakout sessions, workshops and booth displays—all centered on the goal of educating and inspiring women in all areas of the automotive industry.
