COSTA MESA, Calif., September 2, 2010 – NADAguides, the leading provider of vehicle pricing and information, awards the all-new 2011 Buick Regal its September “Car of the Month.” NADAguides selected the 2011 Buick Regal as the September “Car of the Month” based on the vehicle’s innovative technology, increased power and MPG, and its revolutionizing effect for the brand. Royal, majestic, kingly, magnificent and imperial are all words associated with Regal; and Buick did not disappoint. “The all-new 2011 Buick Regal has no trouble living up to its name, providing a sneak peek of where the Buick legacy is headed,” says Don Christy, Jr., president of NADAguides. “The 2011 Buick Regal is changing the way consumers perceive Buick vehicles and the brand is making a statement with this vehicle: everything you need and want for a very affordable price.” The 2011 Buick Regal is priced at $26,245.
“Market interest in the 2011 Buick Regal, compared to its closest competitor models from Audi, Lexus and BMW, has risen sharply according to NADAguides website traffic patterns. This follows sales with Buick currently leading the auto industry with the largest increase in sales – a 48% change in new vehicle sales from early 2009 to early 2010,” Christy added “Also impressive is that over the last couple of years, Buick has actually decreased its average total incentive spending while still increasing sales. Buick is definitely on the right road and it’s clear that the Regal is just the beginning of a fine dynasty of vehicles to come.”
"We’re honored that NADAguides has recognized the 2011 Buick Regal as their car of the month," said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Buick & GMC Sales and Service. "The Regal delivers a dynamic driving experience that competes with the best import sport sedans in the mid-size sport car segment and is available at Buick dealerships now."
The 2011 Regal is powered by a 182 HP direct-injection 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine that achieves an estimated 20 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. Buick will also offer a 220 HP 2.0-liter Ecotec turbocharged engine on the Regal CXL Turbo model later this year. The 6-speed automatic transmission and Driver Shift Control make switching between manual and automatic modes just an exciting tap away. The Four-Link Independent Rear Suspension is designed to decrease the weight of the car and enhance response, providing a smooth ride “fit for a king.”
Buick designed the Regal with a luxurious twist, welded together with a sporty technology feel. On the interior, the smooth, leather-wrapped steering wheel and 12-way power heated seats offer a very comfortable drive. Adding to that comfort is the Auto Dual-Zone Heating and Air Controls, which allow the driver and passenger to set their preferred temperature levels. The Regal definitely does not skip a beat when it comes to personal technology features, which are all well-illuminated with ice blue ambient lighting. Making the technology user friendly, Buick included a multi-function controller that helps to optimize the main menu and controls specific to the operator’s chosen function: Navigation, Audio, Phone, or Destination. The Bluetooth Connectivity, ONSTAR, USB port for MP3 devices, and Voice-Activated Navigation are clear indications that Buick knows all about modern advanced technology. The main screen is perfectly placed at the top of the dashboard, allowing the driver to control all features while keeping a safe eye on the road.
Technology also assists in maintaining driver and passenger safety. Buick has equipped the Regal with two safety features that help the driver maintain full control and complete stability in all road conditions: StabiliTrack with Traction Control and Anti-Lock Brakes with Brake Assist. Additionally, the 2011 Buick Regal includes Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist and complete airbag protection in front, back and on all sides.
