The Most Popular Automotive “Color” in the World this Year…Is White—(Is that a color?)
Once again, for their 60th year in a row, the DuPont company has release their 2012 DuPont Automotive Color Report. For the second consecutive year, white/white pearl is the world’s most popular auto color. Black/black effect has moved into second and silver is now third.
The top global vehicle colors in DuPont’s report are as follows:
- White/White Pearl – 23 percent
- Black/Black Effect – 21 percent
- Silver – 18 percent
- Gray – 14 percent
- Red – 8 percent
- Blue – 6 percent
- Brown/Beige – 6 percent
- Green – 1 percent
- Yellow/Gold – 1 percent
- Others – 2 percent
Although the order of popularity changes slightly in the 11 automotive regions of the world, white, black, and silver are in the top three in every market in the world.
