The alligators must have been freezing their snouts off while we were visiting New Orleans for NADA. We had some sub-freezing weather, a stark change from the last time NADA was in New Orleans. This magazine’s staff got stuck an extra day due to flight cancellations at the end of the convention. Other than some closed roads, we never really saw much severe weather. It kind of missed New Orleans and attacked Atlanta with a vengeance. The weather may have been cold, but it didn’t stop anything at NADA!
We thought is was great that the folks at PCG, Brian and Glenn Pasch and Carrie Hemphill organized a last-minute free dealer’s roundtable when they found out everyone’s flights were canceled. What a great way to make sure dealer’s time wasn’t wasted by the weather problems. Kudos to PCG.
There were some great booths at NADA in the exhibition hall, some of which you can see in our “Best of NADA” feature story in this issue. There were a number of new exhibitors we got to talk to this year. It was great to see Mark Peters with a new company called Skypatrol that works with GPS technology, and Paul Healy at Dealership For Life. We were able to attend a great party on Bourbon Street with the great folks at Compli. We also saw great solutions at Boyd Warner’s Auto Alert booth, AJ LeBlanc’s Car-mercial booth and at the DealerSocket booth. Ben Brigham’s AVA booth was really hoping too with their Grab Some Cash booth and Contact At Once! showed why they are the best at Chat.

Finally, on a personal note, after 28 years of season tickets, the incredible Seattle Seahawks have won the Superbowl for the first time. (Dealer Marketing Magazine is located in Seattle.) Our fans, we call the 12th man, are famous for having the world record as the loudest stadium in the world, and causing the most false starts in the NFL. Congratulations to coach Pete Carroll, quarterback Russell Wilson, and all of the team. I had the honor of shooting a commercial for my client, Larson Automotive with Russell Wilson as their spokesperson. He is a world-class 25 year-old. Go Seahawks!
